Most Prague tours ask you to walk between districts, find a meeting point and keep up with a group. This one does not. Your licensed guide and a private car pick you up directly from your hotel. From there, the city is yours.
Our Best of Prague car and walking tour covers both banks of the Vltava in three hours — the historic centre, the modern city and everything in between. It is particularly recommended for families with young children, guests travelling with elderly family members, and anyone who simply prefers to see Prague in comfort rather than on tired feet.
The tour begins on the left bank, at Prague Castle — the largest ancient castle complex in the world, perched on a hill above the Vltava. We approach from the best viewpoints, where the panorama over the city and the river is simply breathtaking. Your guide brings the history to life: a thousand years of Bohemian kings, Holy Roman Emperors and Czech presidents who ruled from this hilltop fortress.
If you'd like to explore the castle interiors after the tour, you're welcome to return independently — tickets are available on site.
From the castle we cross to Charles Bridge — the most iconic crossing in Central Europe, commissioned by Emperor Charles IV in 1357, lined with 30 Baroque statues of saints. Your guide will find the lucky statue, explain the story of St. John of Nepomuk, and give you the views that make this bridge what it is: Prague Castle behind you, the Old Town ahead, the Vltava River gliding beneath your feet.
From the bridge we head into the Old Town — to Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. Over 600 years old and still ticking, the Orloj is one of the oldest working clocks in the world. Your guide will share its history and the dark legend of the clockmaker who built it — and why the City Council did what they did when he finished.
This is where the car makes the difference. Instead of walking back the way you came, we continue through the city — past the Vltava embankment, past the Dancing House by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunić, completed in 1996 and one of the most photographed examples of modern architecture in Europe — and on to Wenceslas Square, the historic heart of the New Town and the scene of some of the most dramatic moments in Czech history. All of this would take hours on foot. By car, it becomes part of the same seamless three-hour experience.
Does this tour include hotel pickup? Yes — your guide and private car pick you up directly from your hotel. No meeting points, no wasted time getting to the start of the tour.
Is this tour suitable for children and families? Absolutely. The private car means no long walks between sights, and the pace adapts entirely to your group. One of the best options for families with young children or guests with limited mobility.

What is the Dancing House? The Dancing House was designed by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunić and completed in 1996. Its distinctive curved shape, resembling a pair of dancers, made it one of the most talked-about buildings in Europe when it opened and remains one of Prague's most photographed modern landmarks.
Can this tour be combined with a walking tour? Yes — to explore either bank in more depth on foot, our Charles Bridge & Old Town Walking Tour and Prague Castle & Lesser Town Walking Tour pair naturally with this tour.
